IT’S BEEN A WEEK BUT THE GREEN ARCHERS FEVER IS STILL ON!

What comes into your mind with the color green? Me? After witnessing the Philippine Collegiate Champions League 2009 (elimination round) in our school, I remember how the Green Archers beat the Don Bosco, St. Francis and our school the UNC greyhounds (BTW, I’m not embarrassed watching them lose. It’s not our fault that the Green Archers are better!). In short, whenever I see the color green the DLSU Green Archers comes into my mind. It was a three day event that truly captured the hearts of the young one’s, especially the ladies (including me!). To be honest, I barely know the players because I have to go to school during Saturdays, missing the UAAP games in Studio23. I am fund of watching basketball games but I have never watched a live match with famous players. Watching the Green Archers play live? I never imagined or expected for it to come true. Seeing them in person was a dream that came true for us young ladies. Even the pep squad made me more excited, since lifting and tossing is prohibited during our intramurals in the event of cheer dance. The half-time break performances of the Green Archers Pep Squad added some spice in every game. Their breath taking routines, cartwheels, lifting and tossing gave me an adrenaline rush. Watching them for three days made us sad and made our hearts scream for them to come back. Aw! We will miss you Green Archers! We wish you all the best for this year’s PCCL and we hope to see and watch you again soon. ANIMO LA SALLE!

P.S.

What will I miss most about each player?

no.5 Alvin Joseph Villanueva- I will miss your ‘handsomeness’ in and out of the bb court.

no.6 Gabriel Banal- I will miss how you steal the ball.

no. 7 Simon David Atkins- I will miss your speed in the court and your mood swings during picture takings and autograph signing.peace!

no.9 Samuel Joseph Marata- I will miss you dancing in the rhythm of the drums during warm ups.

no.10 Joshua David Spider Webb- I will miss your face covered with icing from your birthday cake and the dunks you did during the games.

no.11 Arthur Vincent Bringas- I will miss how you get the ball.

no.12 Joseph Emmanuel Tolentino- I will miss your speed and power in and out of the court and your cuteness during picture takings.

no. 15 Ferdinand- I will miss your smile! we all love it!

no. 16 Gabriel Mendoza- I will miss your adrenaline rush during games

no. 17 Peejay Barua- I will miss how you score during games.

no. 18 Hyram Bagatsing- I will miss you leading your team to aim for the gold

no.20 Yutien Andrada- I will miss your rebounds!

no.22 Jed Bryan Manguera- I will miss you and your three points shots!

I will also miss all their ‘kulitans’ during the birthday of Joshua Webb! I enjoyed watching them playing with icing like lil’ boys. They’re so cute!

So long Green Archers! Go for the Gold! :))

-I even heard that their facebook accounts are searched by fans.(including me!)

FASHION-Barbie Enchanted's Way

Fashion made a big difference into our world. It gave us color and enhances our creativity in mixing and matching not only in clothes but also with the interior design of homes and structure of buildings. Whoever invented fashion, I am big fan. But sometimes with too much no knowledge or too uninformed by the latest trends, you can hear the words "Fashion boo-boo" or "a walking disaster". I for one have experienced this. I think most of us do experience this. That is why I decided to share what I read and experience to the world of fashion through blogging.

Since here in the Philippines is a tropical area, we only have two seasons:wet and dry. I will share about my fashion boo-boo last summer on a rainy day. Summer here in the Philippines defines HOT. But when me and my classmate decided to attend our summer class wearing short shorts, it all went wrong. I'm on my way to school when raindrops suddenly fell. I hated it. It was uncomfortable because I can feel the wetness of my legs for the splash that I made, walking in the rain. That's why wearing short shorts during rainy days is a no-no! You can use jeans or pedal instead. For footwear, it is more advisable to use sandals and flip- flops rather than close shoes. Here in our country, we experience flood during rainy days. For a top, it depends on where are you going. Anything that looks appropriate to where will you go will do.

The Yellow Ribbon

Yellow symbolizes light, sunshine and hope. A person who has a yellow personality is cheerful, caring and fun-loving. In the Philippines, yellow symbolizes a national treasure as President Arroyo said. For the past months the Filipinos are united to pray for a great leader. But eventually her fate was to meet God in heaven. I don’t know President Cory Aquino personally, but I know that she made a great difference to our country that you can’t compare with others. She’s religious, hardworking, and kind hearted. She is a good wife, loving mother and caring grandmother. She also made history not only by being the first ever female president of our country but also being the Mother of the Philippine Democracy. As an eighteen year old girl, I never witnessed her accomplishments but will never forget what the late President has done for our country. Today, the country is mourning for her. Tied yellow ribbons are spread all over the country even in the net. Believing in her means to aim higher and take care of each other. As I watched the live telecast of her interment, tears ran down my face. Kris was right. We embrace their family for we feel what they feel, most of us has same experience of their family. Loving President Cory was easy for she accepted the love and care we give her with open arms.

I may not be a witness of President Cory's term and actions as a leader and a citizen of our country, but I know deep within us youngsters that we will never forget President Cory and all the things that she did for the country. We thank you President Cory! You are an inspiration to all of us and we will continue and take care the freedom you gave to us Filipinos.
